Mooselookmeguntic Lake

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
On my way to angel falls I decided to stop and check out the scenic parking. With a lake like this one you just can't pass up an opportunity to take it all in for a minute. The picture on the right is the plaque that is posted in front of the lake. The plaque says, "Mooselookmeguntic Lake is the largest of the Rangeley chain of lakes With a surface area of 14,101 acres." There is also a couple of stories that you can read when you see the full size image.

This picture of the lake was actually taken from the side of the road before I got to the scenic parking area. The clouds I thought were amazing on this day. Hard to get good pictures when there is an overcast. The wild flowers are in bloom and the lake in the background is spectacular. I like the stones that are standing up in front of the flowers. Remember you are free to download and use these pictures. I just ask that you leave a link to the blog.

Here is a picture of the lake still from a little bit of an angle but closer up. It is easy to see how large this lake is from this perspective. There are several islands on the lake. The names are listed on the plaque in the first picture of this post. The trees are so green. I guess that's why they call them evergreens. It was a nice place to stop and enjoy the scenery and stretch the legs.
